About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform daily hospital organization including cleaning, laundry, and stocking
- Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and bi-annual inventory counts and audits
- Order, receive, and stock inventory for treatment areas, exam rooms, and stock rooms
- Monitor product turnover, rotation, and expiration dates
- Maintain Cubex and report expired stock or product recalls
- Communicate backordered items and vendor exhaustion
- Oversee equipment maintenance logs and advise leadership on repairs
- Develop and maintain vendor and representative contacts
- Maintain drug waste and invoice logs in accordance with DEA and regulatory standards
- Oversee OSHA standards through management of sanitation and safety equipment
- Perform basic CPR based on RECOVER initiative guidelines
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Desire to pursue a career in veterinary medicine
- Experience with inventory management is a plus
- Comprehension of basic medical terminology and abbreviations
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and work on the floor
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg independently and 40 kg with assistance
- Willingness to work in noisy environments with strong or unpleasant odors
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis
