About the role

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate engaging, rigorous Tier 2 reading intervention lessons aligned to academic standards
  • Use data to inform instruction and differentiate to meet varied learning needs
  • Oversee the Learning Commons to ensure a welcoming and academically focused space
  • Serve as an advisor to a small group of students
  • Collaborate with Instructional Coaches to improve teaching practice
  • Create trusting relationships with students and their families
  • Analyze data with students to set individual learning plans and team goals
  • Incorporate technology into daily teaching and maintain PowerSchool records
  • Supervise students to ensure safety at all times

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction licensure (or eligibility) in all subject areas to be taught
  • Successful teaching experience, preferably in urban schools
  • Knowledge of effective classroom management and college readiness strategies
  • Ability to function in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
