Intervention Specialist

Responsibilities

• Support educational and behavioral goals for students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP)
• Work with classroom teachers to interpret student abilities and implement intervention strategies
• Conduct diagnostic assessments and functional behavior assessments
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans
• Facilitate IEP meetings and develop goals and objectives
• Utilize research-based best practices for daily planning and instruction
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth
• Participate in non-instructional activities like social events and field trips

Requirements

• Current state teaching license
• Knowledge of State and Common Core Standards
• Experience with full room inclusion or Co-Teaching models
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI criminal background checks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
