About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpreting services from English to Japanese
- Ensure target messages are correctly conveyed and reflect the original meaning of the source
- Maintain high accuracy and technical terminology during automotive and technical training sessions
- Identify and address linguistic inconsistencies or incorrect cultural references
Requirements
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Native speaker in either English or Japanese
- Minimum of 2 years of professional interpreting experience
- Proven experience with both simultaneous and consecutive interpreting
- Experience using interpretation systems, specifically Bidule
- Ability to commute or travel to onsite locations (including London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, or Crewe)
- Ability to maintain professionalism and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Languages, Translation, Linguistics, or a related field
- Experience translating or interpreting technical courses
