Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation services for Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients, their families, providers, and staff
• Advocate for LEP patients' access to healthcare services through intercultural mediation
• Assist providers in delivering culturally sensitive patient care
• Maintain strict patient privacy and safety standards
• Perform short non-publication translations as required

Requirements

• 1+ years of interpreting experience or completion of a successful internship program
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Fluency in both spoken and written English and the target language
• Professional-level interpreting skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in medical, legal, customer service, or educational settings
• Certifications such as CMI, CHI, CCHI, or completion of a 40-hour interpreting course
• Native-level fluency in the target language
