About the Company

The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) is an international financial institution established within the United Nations (UN) ecosystem. With 101 Member States, the CFC operates as an impact investment fund for commodity-dependent developing countries, focusing on poverty alleviation and supporting SMEs and smallholder farmers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on commodity markets, development finance, and SME development
• Assist in preparing speeches, briefing notes, and presentations for the Managing Director
• Support drafting newsletters, website content, and social media posts
• Assist in stakeholder mapping involving Member States, UN entities, and private-sector partners
• Support outreach and engagement activities with partners and stakeholders
• Track governance-related matters and documentation workflows
• Support the organization of meetings, conferences, and external events
• Consolidate data and reports linked to CFC projects

Requirements

• Current student or recent graduate in International Relations, Development Studies, Public Policy, Economics, or related fields
• Strong interest in international development and multilateral institutions
• Excellent research, drafting, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Must be a national of a CFC Member State
• Resident in the Netherlands

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of additional UN languages
• Experience living or working in a developing country
• Insight into the workings of SMEs or smallholders
