International Trade Compliance Manager

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and oversee controls to comply with U.S. and international export regulations for dual-use Defense and Commercial business lines
• Manage the company’s Trade Compliance Policy, Technology Control Plans, and Restricted Party Screening processes
• Make export jurisdiction and classification determinations and submit applications to regulators (e.g., DDTC, BIS)
• Provide strategic advice to Product, Business Development, and Engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle
• Lead company-wide trade compliance training and perform internal compliance assessments
• Work cross-functionally with Security, Procurement, and Engineering to advise on controls for data, software, and hardware
• Oversee relationships with external legal counsel, customs consultants, and regulators

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in international trade controls
• Expertise in U.S. export controls, specifically ITAR and EAR
• Experience with software/hardware for military customers or automotive industry OEMs
• Proven experience designing and implementing compliance policies
• Experience with HTS classification and import entry review
• Familiarity with global sanctions regimes (U.S. and UK)
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with import/export customs procedures and coordinating with freight forwarders
• Knowledge of international trade controls in the UK, Europe, and/or APAC
• Experience in the aerospace or automotive industries
• Background at a large defense contractor, dual-use technology company, or specialized consulting firm
