International Trade Compliance Manager

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and oversee controls to comply with U.S. and international export regulations for dual-use Defense and Commercial business lines
• Manage the company’s Trade Compliance Policy, Technology Control Plans, and Restricted Party Screening processes
• Make export jurisdiction and classification determinations
• Lead trade compliance training across the organization
• Provide strategic advice to Product, Business Development, and Engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle
• Work cross-functionally with Security to advise on controls for data, software, and hardware
• Assist Procurement and Engineering with import/export customs processes for cross-border shipments
• Submit export license and classification applications to regulators such as DDTC and BIS
• Oversee relationships with external legal counsel, customs consultants, and regulators

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in international trade controls
• Experience with software/hardware for military customers or automotive OEMs
• Expertise in ITAR and EAR
• Experience with HTS classification and import entry review
• Familiarity with licensing and compliance IT systems (e.g., DECCS, SNAP-R, or OCR)
• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the aerospace or automotive industry
• Familiarity with international trade controls in the UK, Europe, or APAC
• Experience at a large defense contractor or dual-use technology company
• Knowledge of import/export customs procedures and coordinating with freight forwarders
