International Trade Compliance Manager

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and oversee controls to comply with U.S. and international export control regulations
• Manage the company’s Trade Compliance Policy and Technology Control Plans
• Make export jurisdiction and classification determinations
• Manage Restricted Party Screening processes and lead company-wide trade compliance training
• Provide strategic advice to Product, Business Development, and Engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle
• Work cross-functionally with Security to advise on controls for data, software, and hardware
• Assist Procurement and Engineering with navigating import/export customs processes for cross-border shipments
• Submit export license and classification applications to regulators such as DDTC and BIS
• Oversee relationships with external legal counsel, customs consultants, and regulators

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in international trade controls
• Experience with software or hardware for military customers or automotive industry OEMs
• Expertise in U.S. export controls, specifically ITAR and EAR
• Experience with HTS classification and import entry review
• Familiarity with licensing and compliance IT systems (e.g., DECCS, SNAP-R, or OCR)
• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with import/export customs procedures and coordinating with freight forwarders
• Familiarity with international trade controls in the UK, Europe, and/or APAC
• Experience in the aerospace or automotive industries
• Background at a large defense contractor, dual-use technology company, or specialized consulting firm
