International Trade Compliance Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage the company’s Trade Compliance Policy and Technology Control Plans
• Manage Restricted Party Screening processes
• Make export jurisdiction and classification determinations
• Lead trade compliance training across the company
• Provide strategic advice to Product, Business Development, and Engineering teams
• Work cross-functionally with the Security team to advise on controls for data, software, and hardware
• Assist Procurement and Engineering with import/export customs processes
• Perform internal compliance assessments
• Submit export license and export classification applications to regulators (e.g., DDTC, BIS)
• Oversee relationships with external legal counsel, consultants, and regulators

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in international trade controls
• Experience in companies selling software or hardware to military customers or automotive OEMs
• Experience designing and implementing compliance policies
• Experience with HTS classification and import entry review
• Expertise in U.S. export controls (ITAR, EAR)
• Familiarity with global sanctions regimes (U.S. and UK)
• Familiarity with licensing and compliance IT systems (DECCS, SNAP-R, OCR)
• Familiarity with U.S. import duty regimes
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance
• Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with import/export customs procedures and freight forwarder coordination
• Knowledge of international trade controls in the UK, Europe, or APAC
• Experience in the aerospace or automotive industry
• Experience at a large defense contractor or dual-use technology company
