International Student Advisor

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) and International Student Advisor
• Advise students on immigration and visa-related matters via appointments, phone, video chat, and email
• Process immigration-related benefit applications including CPT, OPT, STEM Extensions, and program extensions
• Manage immigration record updates, SEVIS registration, and address reporting
• Conduct informational seminars on topics such as CPT and OPT
• Manage the International Student and Scholar Portal (Tera-Dotta)
• Stay informed on changing immigration regulations and contribute to office policy documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Law, Higher Education, International Relations, or Social Work)
• 3+ years of experience in international education exchange
• 3+ years of experience working with U.S. immigration regulations
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status (required for DSO/ARO regulatory requirements)
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
• Knowledge of F and J immigration regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field
• Experience with SEVIS, PeopleSoft, or Oracle systems
• Experience with international education office software
• Cross-cultural educational background or second language fluency
• Experience living or working abroad
• Participation in NAFSA: Association of International Educators
