International Recruitment Officer

Responsibilities

• Advance the international engineering student recruitment portfolio and enhance access for underrepresented student populations.
• Foster and maintain a network of external contacts to support recruitment strategies and deliver presentations.
• Conduct market research to determine appropriate schools for visits and develop strategies to increase international student yield.
• Lead the planning and execution of various international student recruitment events and workshops.
• Advise potential applicants, students, parents, and guidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes.
• Collaborate on the development and implementation of annual and multi-year recruitment plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of experience.
• Minimum of four years of recent and relevant experience in international student recruitment.
• Proven experience applying equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) principles to engage diverse populations.
• Strong presentation and public speaking skills for both large and small audiences.
• Experience coordinating student recruitment events and workshops.
• Proficiency with student information systems (e.g., ROSI), admissions systems (e.g., Slate), and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and Mac platforms (Keynote).
• Ability to travel internationally for several weeks and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license and a valid passport.

Preferred Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of university-level education, specifically within science and engineering programs.
• Existing knowledge of the University of Toronto and its various faculty support services.
