About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage international and domestic freight movement via air, sea, and road
- Ensure compliance with U.S. export rules (EAR, ITAR), HTS coding, Incoterms, and tariffs
- Create and maintain the logistics playbook for new international operations
- Prepare and verify cross-border shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading
- Monitor shipments to resolve delays, customs holds, and logistical snags
- Maintain ERP and logistics system data accuracy and report on key performance metrics
- Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to secure competitive rates
- Coordinate with procurement, customer service, and quality teams to meet order deadlines
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, or import/export
- Proven experience partnering with freight forwarders and customs brokers
- Strong understanding of Incoterms, customs clearance, and cross-border documentation
- Working knowledge of U.S. export-compliance rules (EAR) and HTS classification
- Proficiency with ERP or transportation/logistics management software
- Ability to work full-time on-site in the Cincinnati, OH region
- Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of ITAR and export-controlled item handling
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Business
- Experience in the aerospace or aviation industry
- Conversational Spanish skills
- Experience establishing logistics for new overseas markets
- Professional certifications such as Certified Customs Specialist, Licensed Customs Broker, or APICS/CLTD
- Hazmat or dangerous-goods certification (IATA or IMDG)

- Annual compensation between $55,000 and $75,000
