Internal Controls Analyst

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and ad-hoc process and control reviews to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment
• Support internal and external assurance partners in assessing the compliance environment
• Support the management attestation process and ensure key financial reporting controls are attested
• Manage the Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) and process changes
• Identify, track, and report on remediation needs and implementation of agreed actions
• Maintain relevant process documentation supporting compliance requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Auditing, Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or compliance and governance law
• 3-5 years of experience working with risk, controls, and compliance principles
• Experience in auditing principles and practices
• Understanding of Institute of Internal Auditors standards, COSO ERM, and Internal Control Framework
• Knowledge of relevant legislations and regulations such as UKCR, JSE, and US SoX

Preferred Qualifications

• Registration with a professional body as a chartered auditor (Institute of Internal Auditors) or as a Chartered Accountant
