Internal Audit Associate

Responsibilities

• Support ISO audits and conduct regular internal and operational audits
• Map security requirements to controls and actionable practices across various company functions
• Review business processes and develop/update Risk and Control Matrices (RCM), flowcharts, and testing procedures
• Prepare and maintain testing workpapers to ensure timely completion of audit cycles
• Perform all audit phases including planning, execution, close meetings, and reporting
• Analyze the impact of control deficiencies and collaborate with stakeholders on root causes and corrective actions
• Assist leadership in identifying areas for improvement and recommending industry best practices
• Apply automation to controls to ensure ongoing compliance and centralized governance

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience
• 2 years of relevant work experience in ISO and/or Internal Audits
• Strong understanding of Information Security and Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) terms and practices
• Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO 27001/2/17/18, SOC2, GDPR, NIST CSF, and NIST 800-53
• Understanding of control principles such as COSO
• Strong communication skills to articulate information security risks in business terms to management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Big 4 or similar auditing environment
• Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., CompTIA+)
• Experience managing compliance programs through centralized governance management systems
