Intern- Research (EHSP)

Responsibilities

• Perform complete examinations of horses for research enrollment, including physical, lameness, force plate, treadmill, and endoscopic evaluations.
• Maintain up-to-date research documentation and enter data in a timely manner.
• Provide medical oversight, diagnosis, and treatment for the Equine Health Studies Program (EHSP) research herd and remote facilities.
• Collaborate with research and clinical technical staff to complete various research protocols.

Requirements

• DVM or equivalent degree.
• One year of equine experience.
• State Faculty or Full License to practice veterinary medicine in Louisiana.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical capability to lift more than 50 pounds and perform tasks involving standing, walking, kneeling, or bending for prolonged periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate from a veterinary school with specific equine experience.
