Intermediate/Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assess geological and geotechnical conditions and perform rock mass characterization.
• Conduct engineering analyses and design for soil and rock projects, including slope stability, excavations, foundations, permafrost, and mining.
• Perform occasional fieldwork such as site inspections, geological mapping, borehole monitoring, rock core logging, and geotechnical instrumentation installation.
• Mentor and train junior staff to support the growth of the northern climate geotechnical engineering team.
• Manage tasks within small to mid-sized projects, including planning, analysis, reporting, and client communication.
• Utilize innovative tools such as UAVs and AI-integrated solutions to enhance technical processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Geological, or Mining Engineering (or Engineering Geology) from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or related services.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) in good standing with NAPEG (or eligible for registration).
• Valid Canadian driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• Ability to live and work in Canada; must reside in Yellowknife or be willing to relocate.
