About the role
Responsibilities
- Contribute to bids and proposals by analyzing customer requirements and developing system architectures
- Create and maintain system architecture documents and allocate requirements for subsystem elements
- Coordinate interfaces between system components and develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Manage technical performance measures and engineering budgets, including power, weight, and link budgets
- Identify technical risks and prepare effective mitigation strategies
- Develop test plans and procedures to verify and validate requirements
- Design, implement, and execute system test cases and evaluate results
- Provide engineering support to manufacturing, integration, test, and in-service support activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 4 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with minimum 2 years of experience
- Proficiency in one or more defence communication systems technologies (e.g., radio, telephony, secure data networks)
- Experience applying systems engineering processes within a defence or similar project structure
- Working knowledge of regulations, standards, and processes related to defence communication systems
- Proficiency in MS Office tools
- Eligibility for registration with the Controlled Goods Program
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO SECRET security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of environmental and EMI/EMC requirements or naval ship classification
- Experience working with different operating systems such as Windows and Linux
- Working knowledge of IBM DOORS®
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced agile environment
