About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform systems analysis, design, integration, testing, implementation, and maintenance for enterprise applications
- Participate in all phases of the SDLC with emphasis on planning, analysis, IV&V, and DT&E
- Support DFAS mainframe-based civilian payroll system operations
- Monitor production jobs and ABEND codes using TSO, ISPF, SDSF, and JES
- Analyze and action system change requests and maintain configuration management documentation
- Participate in COOP testing and enhancement activities
- Collaborate with developers, testers, and stakeholders to support project objectives
Requirements
- 2–3 years hands-on experience with requirements analysis, software design, IDMS, and COBOL
- Active Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of systems engineering methodologies and SDLC processes
Preferred Qualifications
- 2–3 years experience with JCL, system-to-system interfaces, Oracle, COGNOS, and JavaScript
- Experience with Broadcom Endevor, REXX, and z/OS mainframe tools (TSO, ISPF, SDSF, JES)
- Familiarity with PVCS, Enterprise Architect, and Assembler programming
- Experience with governmental accounting or financial systems (e.g., civilian payroll)
- Exposure to 24/7 production mainframe operations or on-call support
- Familiarity with DoD/DFAS security requirements and CAC-enabled environments
