Intermediate Health and Safety Advisor

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of health and safety standards and compliance requirements for all project activities
• Perform regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
• Support the implementation of a safety management system based on "plan, do, check, act" principles
• Monitor the programme's health and safety management plan and ensure correct implementation
• Review and approve health and safety documentation, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
• Facilitate training, inductions, and workshops to raise awareness of safety standards
• Communicate with project stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers regarding safety requirements
• Track and report on health and safety performance metrics and trends

Requirements

• Level 4/5 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety standards and industry-specific regulations
• Experience with Irish Government Regulation, including Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013
• Proven track record of developing health, safety, and welfare strategies
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a large-scale project environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• NEBOSH Certificate or working towards a Health and Safety Diploma
• Safe Pass certification
• ISO 45001 formal auditor training
• Chartered Member of IOSH (or equivalent)
• Teaching qualification
