About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist with engineering design activities for projects involving buildings, underground electrical distribution systems, lighting, and wiring.
- Perform quality control (QA/QC) of models and sheet files to ensure standards compliance and discipline coordination.
- Review and check drafting work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other disciplines (architectural, mechanical, civil, etc.) to ensure design compatibility.
- Support the development of design documentation, plans, reports, and Construction Work Packages (CWPs).
- Participate in site visits, field engineering work, and process safety assessment sessions.
- Ensure all drafting work is completed accurately, on time, and within budget while maintaining proper documentation.
Requirements
- College Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from a recognized school.
- 3-5 years of experience in a consulting field.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (V2020 or newer).
- Understanding of MicroStation design software and principles.
- Experience using Adobe and/or Bluebeam.
- Knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft 365 office suite.
- Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written).
Preferred Qualifications
- Registration as a CTech or CET.
- Proficiency in conversational French (oral and written).
- Familiarity with industry standards and the Canadian Electrical Code and CSA codes.
