Intermediate Electrical Designer/Drafter

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering design activities for projects involving buildings, underground electrical distribution systems, lighting, and wiring.
• Perform quality control (QA/QC) of models and sheet files to ensure standards compliance and discipline coordination.
• Review and check drafting work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other disciplines (architectural, mechanical, civil, etc.) to ensure design compatibility.
• Support the development of design documentation, plans, reports, and Construction Work Packages (CWPs).
• Participate in hazardous classification sessions, process safety assessments, and site visits for field engineering work.
• Ensure all drafting work is completed accurately, on time, and within budget while maintaining proper documentation.

Requirements

• College Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from a recognized school.
• 3-5 years of experience in a consulting field.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (V2020 or newer).
• Understanding of MicroStation design software and principles.
• Experience using Adobe and/or Bluebeam.
• Knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written).

Preferred Qualifications

• Registration as a CTech or CET.
• Proficiency in conversational French (oral and written).
• Familiarity with industry standards and applicable Canadian Electrical Code and CSA codes.
