Intermediate Backend Java Engineer

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the backend API technology stack and implement business solutions to drive competitive differentiation
• Translate product and design requirements into pragmatic, effective technical solutions
• Collaborate with team members to implement user stories, write tests, and deliver improved product functionality
• Work with internal IT teams to resolve technical dependencies during implementation
• Support improvements to DevOps tooling and continuous delivery processes

Requirements

• 2-4 years of professional software development experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Proficiency in JVM-based languages such as Java 8+ or Kotlin
• Experience with modern backend frameworks like Spring Boot
• Strong experience writing and securing RESTful API services in large-scale distributed applications
• Understanding of microservice architectures, including service discovery and circuit breakers
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra)
• Proficiency with build tools and CI/CD pipelines such as Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, or Azure Pipelines
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and engineering practices like TDD and design patterns

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Knowledge of additional programming languages like NodeJS, Go-Lang, or Python
• Advanced degree in Computer Science
