Interim Assistant Director, Student Affairs & First-Year Experience

Responsibilities

• Provide general support across the Division of Student Affairs with a focus on first-year programming and academic/social support.
• Support the Office of the Dean of Students (ODOS) in providing guidance to a specific cohort of incoming students.
• Help students navigate academic and personal challenges, empowering them to be problem-solvers.
• Connect students to essential campus resources to facilitate their success and well-being.
• Articulate the institutional value of diversity and foster an equitable, inclusive community.
• Assist in the development of tools to help students make difficult decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate policies and procedures clearly in writing and orally.
• Proven ability to be collaborative, organized, and detail-oriented.
• Skilled in active listening and program facilitation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of related experience working with teen or college students.
• Experience supporting complex programming or large-scale initiatives.
• Ability to process and respond to complex information and shift gears quickly in a fast-paced environment.
