Interim Assistant Director, Residential Life & First-Year Experience

Responsibilities

• Provide mentorship, programming, and administrative support for the First Year Experience and Residential Life student staff
• Assist in the recruitment, training, supervision, and ongoing development of student staff
• Offer coaching and mediation support for students in conflict
• Manage administrative tasks including communications, accountability, and logistics for residential staff
• Partner with offices across the Division of Student Affairs to support departmental initiatives
• Foster an equitable and inclusive community while promoting student health and well-being

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of one year of experience working with teen or college students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound judgment and the ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in student affairs
• Strong facilitation and training skills
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
