Interconnections Engineer

Responsibilities

• Analyze and assess complex DER distribution system interconnections and new customer connections at various voltage levels
• Develop distribution system power flow models for studying the interconnection of generation and storage using CYME software
• Document and communicate technical results, recommendations, and data interpretations through reports and presentations
• Perform independent engineering analysis and review the work of peer engineers and consultants
• Provide guidance to team members on distribution planning issues and analysis
• Apply industry standards including IEEE, ANSI, and DER interconnection guidelines
• Utilize planning tools such as GIS (ArcFM), SAP, and various power flow modeling software packages
• Assist with storm restoration efforts and represent the company on industry committees

Requirements

• BSEE Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Advanced knowledge of electric distribution power systems and planning
• Experience with power flow modeling and analysis software
• Ability to work independently and mentor other engineers

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) License
