About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as project manager, deputy project manager, or technical task lead for ITS projects
  • Grow the Illinois ITS team and collaborate with Local Business Leaders to drive growth in ITS and V2X
  • Perform marketing and business development activities, including leading pursuits and proposal development
  • Represent the firm at client and industry events to promote WSP capabilities and gather market intelligence
  • Provide technical leadership to ensure design, safety, and functionality meet industry standards
  • Anticipate client needs and market conditions to develop strategic action plans

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation and infrastructure projects
  • Minimum of 5 years leading, managing, and mentoring teams of ITS engineers and technicians
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager leading complex ITS projects
  • Demonstrated deep relationships with State DOTs, local governments, and transportation agencies
  • Strong technical skills relevant to the ITS systems engineering process

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical experience in the design and implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
  • Recognized industry leadership in professional societies such as ITS Midwest, AASHTO, ITE, ACEC, WTS, or COMTO
