Intelligent Transportation Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct studies, site investigations, and designs for intelligent transportation system infrastructures for various agencies.
• Attend meetings, coordinate projects, and perform field work including site surveys and inspections.
• Generate and review design layouts, electrical wiring, communication network diagrams, and construction details.
• Develop and review system test plans and scripts, perform data processing, and conduct analysis.
• Write and edit project construction specifications.
• Manage contract administration, review shop drawings and equipment submittals, and produce reports and punch lists.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 1-8 years of related work experience.
• Current registration or eligibility to be a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Revit.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with MTO or other municipal agencies in Ontario.
• Knowledge of Electrical Code, internet networking, and Information Technology (IT).
• Experience with hardware/software QAQC, electronics, and power systems.
• Familiarity with tools such as ETAP, VBA, Viper, Synchro, or SQL Database.
• Knowledge of construction management or public transit design.
• Valid Ontario G Driver License.
