Intelligent Transportation Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct studies, site investigations, and designs for intelligent transportation system infrastructures
• Generate and review design layouts, electrical wiring, communication network diagrams, and construction details
• Develop and review system test plans and scripts, including data processing and analysis
• Write and edit project construction specifications
• Perform contract administration, including reviewing shop drawings, equipment submittals, and site inspections
• Attend project meetings and coordinate field work such as site surveys

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering degree (or related engineering discipline with relevant experience)
• 1-8 years of related work experience
• Current registration or eligibility to be a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MTO and other municipal agencies in Ontario
• Knowledge of Electrical Code, internet networking, and Information Technology (IT)
• Experience with hardware/software QAQC, electronics, and power systems
• Familiarity with tools such as ETAP, VBA, Viper, Synchro, or SQL Database
• Knowledge of Toll Systems, PowerBI, or Civil/Public Transit Design
• Valid Ontario G Driver License
