Integrations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain integrations with Epic, Cerner, and other major EHR platforms using FHIR, HL7, and vendor-specific APIs
• Own integration work end-to-end including scoping, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues in production clinical environments
• Work with hospital IT teams and EHR vendors to support new integration rollouts
• Contribute to product features across Avo's broader platform, including clinical AI tooling and decision support
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure reliability in high-stakes clinical environments
• Uphold security and compliance standards including HIPAA and SOC2

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (React) or Python (Django)
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, data modeling, and high-reliability systems
• Strong written communication skills for an async-first culture
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a high-growth startup or B2B SaaS environment
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance requirements
• Experience with both React/TypeScript and Python/Django stacks
• Comfort with AI-assisted development workflows
• Prior experience with EHR integrations (Epic, Cerner) using FHIR or HL7
• Experience with AWS, Docker, or Terraform
