Intake Registration Specialist

Responsibilities

• Conduct individualized intake assessments and interviews with students requesting accommodations.
• Manage a caseload of students through the registration process, providing orientation and support services.
• Review and interpret complex disability documentation to determine eligibility and necessary accommodations.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA and other privacy regulations.
• Triage student cases and escalate acute or complex issues to senior management.
• Collaborate with the Associate Director to develop and evaluate intake protocols and workflow processes.
• Perform outreach to students, faculty, and staff to represent Disability Services at university events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Counselor Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of two years of related professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of ADA and Section 504 regulations and their application in higher education.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems and the ability to manage high-volume workloads.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion.
• Strong critical thinking and organizational skills to navigate complex academic environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in student services, intake, or registration processes.
