Intake Behavioral Healthcare Specialist/Mental Health Tech

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to patients with emotional or psychiatric disorders
• Field phone calls and route calls as necessary
• Accompany and transport patients as assigned
• Provide clerical and administrative support to patient care and the department
• Maintain professional boundaries and seek supervision when necessary

Requirements

• High school degree, GED or equivalent
• Hospital and/or psychiatric experience
• Strong telephone etiquette and customer service skills
• Ability to maintain confidential information
• Current BLS for healthcare provider card upon hire
• Ability to obtain Therapeutic Options™ (TOT) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology
• Basic knowledge of human behavior or principles of psychology
