About the role
Responsibilities
- Educate and support patients through provider assignment and enrollment processes
- Reconcile plan rosters against practice panels and flag discrepancies
- Educate patients on supplemental benefits like dental, vision, and transportation
- Serve as an insurance navigator for high-risk and dual-eligible populations
- Track LIS (Low Income Subsidy) and mail-order pharmacy enrollment
- Identify and escalate payer assignment issues or systemic plan barriers
- Help patients understand cost-sharing, copays, and deductibles
- Assist patients with pharmacy benefit navigation and manufacturer assistance programs
Requirements
- Strong customer service skills with empathy and professionalism
- Excellent communication skills for patients, clinical staff, and insurance contacts
- Working knowledge of Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans
- Understanding of supplemental benefits, dual eligibility, and LIS/Extra Help programs
- Strong organizational skills to manage a varied caseload
- Ability to navigate ambiguous situations and identify escalation paths
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with plan enrollment verification or insurance record reconciliation
- Familiarity with pharmacy benefit programs and manufacturer assistance
- Experience using Salesforce CRM
- Experience with Athena Health healthcare operations systems
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
