About the role
Responsibilities
- Own and manage international insurance programmes, including workers compensation, general liability, property, and specialty lines across all territories.
- Lead annual renewal cycles, including programme structuring, data preparation, carrier engagement, and coverage benchmarking.
- Review contracts and define insurance requirements for new business verticals, products, and partnerships.
- Manage certificates of insurance (COIs) and oversee insurance requirements for third-party vendor onboarding.
- Build and maintain strong carrier relationships in the London market, representing Deliveroo and Wolt programmes to underwriters.
- Produce risk reporting and programme analysis for senior leadership using actuarial and renewal data.
- Partner cross-functionally with legal, product, operations, and commercial teams to identify and quantify emerging risks.
- Utilize AI and analytical tools for risk modelling, coverage analysis, and programme benchmarking.
Requirements
- Proven insurance industry experience in broking, in-house risk management, or a combination of both.
- Expertise in reviewing insurance contracts, policy documents, and coverage terms with high attention to detail.
- Extensive knowledge of international insurance markets beyond the UK.
- A commercial mindset with the ability to translate complex insurance concepts for non-specialist stakeholders.
- Proficiency with AI tools and data analysis.
- Strong document creation and presentation skills for building carrier decks and communicating programme positions.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions without day-to-day oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with platform or gig economy business models and their associated risk profiles.
- Professional accreditation such as CII qualification (Cert CII, Dip CII, or ACII).
- Previous people management experience or readiness to build and lead a small team.
- Exposure to captive structures, self-insurance layers, or corporate programme design.
