Insurance Coverage/Insurance Litigation Associate

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices
• Investigate claims and draft coverage opinion letters
• Handle discovery in coverage litigation matters
• Provide clients with insurance coverage advice and status reports

Requirements

• JD from an ABA accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in the state of California
• 2-8 years of defense litigation experience
• 1+ years of coverage/coverage litigation experience
• Experience drafting coverage opinions (CGL, property, professional liability, cyber, etc.)
• Experience in third-party or first-party claims
• Proficiency in coverage analysis and writing
• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions
• Superior analytical and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience cross-examining plaintiffs and fact witnesses
• Experience handling court appearances, depositions, and trials
