Insurance Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Verify patients' dental insurance coverage and benefits
• Communicate with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations for treatments
• Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage and estimated costs
• Submit accurate and timely insurance claims electronically and via mail
• Follow up on outstanding insurance claims, appeals, and denials
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dental insurance policies and industry changes
• Collaborate with the front desk and clinical teams to ensure accurate patient information and treatment codes
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing insurance-related inquiries and concerns
• Educate patients on available payment options for uncovered services
• Facilitate and coordinate other office responsibilities as needed

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in dental practice management software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with accurate record-keeping abilities
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills for claim discrepancies
