Insurance Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Educate kidney dialysis patients on insurance options including Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Supplement, and State Renal programs
• Coordinate the application process for insurance and financial assistance to ensure continuous coverage
• Act as a liaison between patients and local Social Security offices or Medicare agents
• Monitor and verify Medicaid status and track the 30-month coordination period for patients on employer Group Health Plans
• Collect necessary documentation for indigent waivers and evaluate personal financial information for assistance programs
• Maintain accurate insurance information within the Revenue Cycle Management system to prevent billing discrepancies
• Prepare and analyze monthly reports to track caseload progress and audit billing system accuracy
• Perform extensive local travel to various clinics within the assigned geographic area

Requirements

• 2-5 years of related experience in insurance coordination or a similar role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general PC applications
• Valid Driver's License for local travel to clinics
• Strong organizational, time management, and independent working skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree, specifically in Social Work or a healthcare-related field
• Previous experience working within the healthcare industry
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security systems
• Experience in direct patient interaction
