About the role
Responsibilities
- Install, test, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair field instruments including meters, transmitters, controllers, and control valves
- Service both electronic and pneumatic field instruments
- Troubleshoot and repair Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, and vibration monitoring systems
- Perform maintenance according to established written procedures using drawings and equipment manuals
- Document all work performed in test forms and condition reports
- Read and interpret schematics, logic diagrams, loop diagrams, and P&IDs
- Stroke valves and calibrate instrumentation per specifications
- Review and rewrite procedures for instrumentation work
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Two-year degree or certificate from an Instrumentation training program or technical school
- Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heights, confined spaces, and outdoors
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as an Instrument Technician in an industrial environment such as refining, chemical, or power industries
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
