Instrumentation Specialist 2

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate response to emergency conditions for security equipment used by Police personnel
• Troubleshoot and perform repair and maintenance for hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical power systems
• Maintain electrical wiring, low-voltage power, access control, intrusion detection, and surveillance components
• Service CCTV data storage devices, optical/metallic data transmission components, and automated controls
• Work with programmable logic controls (PLCs), actuators, motors, hydraulic pumps, and valves
• Use computers and TCP/IP to configure components as required
• Assist higher-level technicians with complex repairs

Requirements

• Associate degree in electrical, mechanical, or electronic engineering technology plus 1 year of experience; OR
• Trade/technical school graduation plus 3 years of experience; OR
• High school diploma plus 4 years of experience in electronic instrumentation and control systems
• Valid New York State motor vehicle driver license
• Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and enter confined spaces
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and around toxic/corrosive chemicals
