Instrumentation Controls Technician

Responsibilities

• Calibrate and maintain field instruments including temperature sensors, pressure transmitters, flow meters, and pH/conductivity analyzers
• Support and troubleshoot PLC based control systems on Processing and Packaging lines
• Diagnose and repair instrumentation and control failures on filling lines, blow molders, cappers, labelers, and conveyors
• Diagnose and repair VFD, Servo, motor, and pump failures
• Maintain and verify critical process recording devices and support CIP/SIP system integrity
• Update electrical drawings, P&IDs, and instrument data in CMMS

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as an Instrument Technician in food, beverage, or dairy manufacturing
• Proficiency with HART communicators and calibration tools (Fluke or equivalent)
• Working knowledge of PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMI/SCADA platforms
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and electrical schematics
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical certification in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Industrial Automation
• Experience with Rockwell Studio 5000 or FactoryTalk
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, or Modbus
• Experience supporting FDA, USDA, or state dairy authority inspections
