Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

• Prepare I&C design deliverables including P&IDs, instrument layouts, control philosophy, logic diagrams, and master IO lists
• Create and review detailed designs for instrument installation, HMIs, PLC ladder logic, and hazardous area classifications
• Develop and review equipment procurement specifications and support vendor bid evaluations
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and interface with clients to support implementation
• Conduct constructability reviews and travel to client/vendor offices or plant sites for design reviews and construction coordination

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one
• 7–10+ years of experience in I&C engineering design for industrial applications or nuclear power plants
• Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes
• Experience with P&ID, PFD, and general arrangement drawings

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive background in commercial nuclear and DOE nuclear design projects
• Competency in lighting, communications, and security systems design
