About the role
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair emission-related components, including building electrical cables and modifying breakout boxes
- Calibrate and maintain emission testing instrumentation such as smoke meters, opacity meters, and fuel flow meters
- Support development and durability testing within an engine dynamometer facility
- Verify the calibration and maintenance of test equipment and systems
- Hook up instrumentation, diagnose problems, and conduct tests using tools like pressure transducers, torque meters, and thermocouples
- Interface with technologists, engineers, and supervisors regarding new test procedures and equipment updates
Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Minimum of two years of related experience or vocational training
- Knowledge of automotive technology and electronic troubleshooting
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and flow charts
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate Degree in automotive technology or an electronics-related field
- Experience with engines/powertrain dynamometer testing
- Experience with Horiba gas analyzer calibration and exhaust sample flow
- Proficiency using DMMs, O-Scopes, and other electronic testing devices
- Familiarity with automotive test environment instrumentation (thermocouples, accelerometers, etc.)
