About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction for the design, configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of control systems and plant instrumentation.
- Lead the design and installation of new equipment and the retrofit of existing equipment.
- Manage preventive maintenance and calibration programs for instrumentation and control systems.
- Perform periodic inspections of control rooms and conduct investigations to determine causes of system trips or failures.
- Ensure compliance with Technical Standards related to Controls and NERC CIP.
- Act as a technology owner for I&C equipment, including managing budgets and prioritizing expenditures.
- Assist in the training and development of craft employees to increase technical skill levels.
- Remain available for 24-hour call-out responsibilities to address priority maintenance needs.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience in electronics, instrumentation, or plant electrical maintenance.
- Proven experience with distributed/process control systems, including PLC and DCS.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions with limited information.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with operations and maintenance personnel.
- Ability to travel between plant assets (Barry CC, Theodore Co-gen, and Washington County Co-gen).
Preferred Qualifications
- Four-year degree, two-year technical certification, or associate degree in electronics.
- Knowledge of Ovation DCS, GE Mark VI or VIe, or MHI NetMation control systems.
- Experience planning control system migrations for boiler and turbine controls.
