Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve current SCADA systems
• Perform I&C design for controls, instrumentation, data collection, electrical, and connectivity
• Design and implement control logic and develop PLC specifications
• Guide control and instrumentation testing for pilot and scale-up reactors
• Design control algorithms, safety loops, and narratives
• Author I&C system hardware descriptions and functional specifications
• Develop troubleshooting plans and calculation documents
• Author factory acceptance test procedures and calibration programs
• Collaborate with external engineering firms and internal design teams
• Participate in Process Hazards Analysis and ensure compliance with National Electric Code
• Implement hardware and software following Management of Change and Lock Out/Tag Out policies

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience in an I&C development role
• Experience with industrial chemical plants
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Siemens, or Emerson hardware and software
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as Modbus TCP and Serial
• Ability to work safely in industrial environments
• Ability to work independently and in team environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with industrial power including 3 phase, 480V, and transformer specifications
