Instrument Panel/Center Console Lead Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of innovative engineering center console concepts and component designs through release and launch
• Engineer mechanical, kinematic, and structural components including A-class surface and electronics integration
• Perform feasibility checks regarding material, manufacturing, and design aspects
• Collaborate with suppliers to meet weight, cost, durability, and performance targets
• Work with engineering groups and leadership to meet deliverables within tight time constraints
• Ensure compliance with vehicle requirements, quality objectives, and safety standards

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Chemical, Civil, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering
• Minimum 6 years of total work experience
• 4 years of experience in automotive interior trim design and development
• Understanding of plastic and metal structures, comfort modeling, and prototype development
• Knowledge of plastics injection/blow molding manufacturing
• Intermediate design, packaging, A-class surface, and 3D modeling skills (CATIA V5/6 preferred)
• Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, and specification development

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Senior level knowledge of plastics and composites molding, tooling, and assembly methodology
• Experience interpreting FEA and mold flow simulations
• Previous planning, program management, or vehicle launch experience
