Instrument Operator II

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, inspect, and maintain survey equipment
• Operate data collectors, Total Stations, Robotic Total Stations, levels, and GPS-RTK Receivers
• Perform field work to ascertain precise measurements and locations of natural features and man-made structures
• Conduct construction staking for streets, utilities, drains, and lot layouts
• Compile detailed notes, sketches, and records of survey data
• Provide guidance and direction to Rodmen and less experienced crew members
• Perform minor field calculations and spatial data analysis
• Assist the Party Chief in addressing moderately complex issues and running the crew in their absence
• Adhere to safety protocols and ensure crew compliance

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certification
• 2+ years of experience in land surveying or a related role
• Experience with Leica and/or Trimble equipment
• Proficiency in operating and obtaining land survey data using advanced instruments
• Ability to perform and analyze technical calculations independently
• Working knowledge of land surveying procedures
• Physical ability to lift and carry survey equipment up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to work in various terrains and weather conditions
