About the role
Responsibilities
- Install, test, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair refinery field instrumentation including meters, transmitters, control valves, and actuators
- Maintain and repair instrument-related equipment across process units and maintenance areas
- Service and troubleshoot both electronic and pneumatic instruments
- Troubleshoot and repair control and monitoring systems such as DCS, PLCs, and vibration monitoring systems
- Interpret technical drawings including P&IDs, loop drawings, logic diagrams, and schematics
- Document all work performed accurately via work orders, calibration sheets, and maintenance logs
- Participate in safety meetings and execute work in accordance with site Health, Safety & Environmental requirements
- Support refinery operations through callouts, overtime, and off-shift work as required
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Associate degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related science (or equivalent technical certificate/experience)
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb vertical ladders
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and wear appropriate PPE
- Ability to pass a written test and a hands-on skill demonstration test
Preferred Qualifications
- Three to five years of relevant work experience
- Familiarity with handheld communicators and using laptops to communicate with smart instruments
