Instrument Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line support to site instrumentation and controls, including pneumatic and electrical devices.
• Install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain site instrumentation, meters, transmitters, flowmeters, and control valves.
• Perform calibration, testing, adjustments, and documentation for instrumentation and ISO equipment.
• Review job packages, obtain work permits, and conduct required walkdowns with Operations to ensure safety.
• Conduct loop checks, identify operational variances, and update electrical drawings as needed.
• Analyze root causes of equipment issues and provide feedback to improve reliability and job plans.
• Complete digital work orders, calibration records, and SAP entries.
• Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in the installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Strong organizational, math, and computer skills.
• Effective written, verbal, and listening communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a chemical plant environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP (S/4 HANA).
• Vocational or technical certificates relevant to instrumentation.
• Associate degree or higher in an instrumentation-related field.
