Instrument/Electronics Technician

Responsibilities

• Design, manufacture, and test automated environmental monitoring systems
• Perform wiring, soldering, and assembly of terminals and 12V control panels
• Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation
• Provide technical support to field staff, project teams, and external clients
• Manage projects and procurement tasks as required
• Assist with field installation of monitoring stations, including potential overseas travel

Requirements

• Minimum Year 12 secondary education with strengths in Science, English, or Mathematics
• Proficiency with hand and power tools for fabricating instrument panels
• Strong computer literacy and a practical, technical mindset
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
• Strong work ethic and initiative

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or interest in telemetry communications (satellite, 4G, or IoT)
• Experience with datalogger coding or programming (e.g., CRBasic)
• Proficiency in using AutoCAD
• Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications
• Background in a similar technical or industrial workplace
