Instructor, Welding

Responsibilities

• Provide competency-based quality instruction in welding within classroom, lab, and clinical settings
• Develop and utilize various instructional strategies and delivery methods to meet diverse learning styles
• Prepare lecture, lab, and class materials, including the development of course syllabi and outlines
• Monitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, progress, and competency attainment
• Foster a safe and civil learning environment for all students
• Participate in curriculum development, program recruitment, and college committee work
• Advise students regarding academic needs and refer them to appropriate assistance

Requirements

• Must meet one of the following educational/experience criteria:
• Bachelor's or graduate degree in welding or a related area of study
• Bachelor's degree in any area with at least 18 credit hours completed in welding
• Associate's degree in welding with at least 3,000 hours of recent and relevant work experience
• Welding diploma or special training with at least 6,000 hours of recent and relevant work experience
• Ability to pass a hands-on welding test administered by an approved instructor
• Demonstrated effectiveness working with diverse populations and cultures
• Ability to perform heavy physical tasks, including lifting up to 65 lbs and maintaining coordination for fine motor tasks

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in curriculum development and learning assessment
• Ability to use and apply alternative instructional delivery systems to enhance learning
